Tanzania held a discussion on the future of media industry in Tanzania.
The event which took place on 3rd December, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency
Hotel was an effort to bring together different media stakeholders in
Tanzania and highlight the touchstones of the industry featuring
marketing and data experts to share insights about the industry and
analyze the future of media in Tanzania.
Speaking
to the event,TV1 CEO Mr. Ben Amadasun commented on the achievement and
the future of media in Tanzania, especially TV1 Tanzania that invest on
producing quality content from their modern studios and the best team of
professionals, also to improve the standard of production in the
industry by giving more opportunity to local producers to produce
quality content.

On
one hand, the invited Speaker to the event, former CEO Of push observer
Mr. Thomas Kyalo spoke about research data in Tanzania and Pan African
(market and consumer research).
According
to Kyalo, The Media industry in Tanzania tend to grow every single day,
and media professionals should make sure they change accordingly to
make sure they utilize available opportunities that appear to make sure
they deliver hundred percent compliance.

On
the other, Miss Serah Katusia, from a leading media mogul from Scanad
Group advised stakeholders who attended to the event on media planning
and airtime purchasing.

CEO, concluded that in the near future TV1 Tanzania will continue to
maximize their distribution by entering in multiple platforms to
increase its market share in the industry

According
to geopoll data, TV1 Tanzania, through star times, had the highest
shares from February to July 2015, and dropped in proceeding months due
to the elections and overall with all platforms we are in fourth
position, bearing in mind that Startimes is the major market share with
more than 70% viewership when it comes to platform market.
