MAADHIMISHO YA SARATANI, KWENDA SAMBAMBA NA UTOAJI ELIMU YA UGONJWA HUO.


Katibu Mkuu wa wizara ya Afya, Maendeleo ya Jamii, jinsia, wazee na watoto, Dkt. Ulisubisya Mpoki akizungumza na waandishi wa habari jijini Dar es Salaam leo kuhusiana na Siku ya saratani, huadhimishwa duniani kote kila mwaka ifikapo tarehe 4 ya Mwezi februari. 

Kaulimbiu ya Maadhimisho ya Siku ya Saratani Duniani mwaka huu ni ‘TUNAWEZA, NINAWEZA. KWA PAMOJA TUWAJIBIKE KUPUNGUZA JANGA LA SARATANI DUNIANI.” (We can, I can. How everyone, as a collective or as an individual can do their part to reduce the global burden of cancer).

WIZARA ya Afya, Maendeleo ya Jamii, Jinsia, Wazee na Watoto kwa kushirikiana na Taasisi ya Ocean Road pamoja na wadau mbalimbali  kuadhimisha siku ya Saratani kuanzia kesho kwa kutoa elimu ya umuhimu wa kuzuia na kujikinga na madhara mbalimbali yatokanayo na maradhi ya Saratani ambayo hufanyika kila Februali 4 ya kila mwaka . 



Akizungumza na waandishi wa habari leo jijini Dar es Salaam, Katibu Mkuu wa Wizara hiyo, Dk. Ulisubisya Mpoki amesema kuwa Saratani ni ugonjwa ambao unaathiri watu wa rika na jinsia zote; watoto, watu wazima, wake kwa waume. 

Amesema takwimu za Shirika la Kimataifa la Atomiki la Utafiti wa Saratani (IARC) na Shirika la Afya Duniani (WHO) zinaelezea kwamba kila mwaka duniani kunatokea wagonjwa wapya wa saratani wanaokadiriwa kufikia milioni 14.1, kati ya hao, zaidi ya wagonjwa milioni 8.2 hufariki dunia kutokana na ugonjwa wa Saratani, hii husababishwa kwa wagonjwa kuchelewa kufikishwa kwenye vituo vya kutolea huduma za afya. Vifo vya ugonjwa wa Saratani ni asilimia 13 ya vifo vyote vinavyotokea duniani (WHO). 

Kaulimbiu ya Maadhimisho ya Siku ya Saratani duniani mwaka huu ni ‘‘Tunaweza , Ninaweza.Kwa pamoja tuwajibike kupunguza janga la saratani duniani’’. 

Dk.Mpoki amesema kuwa hatua madhubuti za kinga, uchunguzi wa mapema na tiba stahiki hazitachukuliwa haraka, tatizo la Saratani litaongezeka na kufikia makadirio ya wagonjwa wapya milioni 24 ifikapo mwaka 2035, huku ongezeko kubwa likiwa katika ukanda wa nchi zinazoendelea ikiwemo Tanzania. 

Amesema tatizo la Saratani limekuwa likiongezeka na kukua, kila mwaka, Takribani wagonjwa wapya wapatao 44,000 hugundulika na saratani za aina mbalimbali nchini, hii ni sawa asilimia 10 tu (4,400) kati ya wagonjwa wote wanaofanikiwa kufika katika Taasisi ya Saratani Ocean Road ili kuweza kupata tiba. Kati ya hao wanaobahatika kufika katika Taasisi ya Saratani ya Ocean Road (takribani asilimia 80) hufika wakiwa katika hatua za mwisho za ugonjwa (Hatua ya 3 na ya 4), hali ambayo hupunguza uwezekano wa wagonjwa kuweza kupona maradhi hayo. 

Dk.Mpoki kwa mujibu wa taarifa kutoka Taasisi ya Saratani ya Ocean Road hapa nchini zinaonyesha  kwamba aina za Saratani zinaoongoza ni kama ifuatavyo: 
Kwa upande wa wanaume,Saratani ya Ngozi ,Saratani ya Koo, Saratani ya Tezi Dume, pamoja na Saratani ya Tezi,na wanawake ni Saratani ya Shingo ya Kizazi, Saratani ya Ngozi, Saratani ya Matiti, pamoja na Saratani ya Koo. 

Amesema ugonjwa wa Saratani umekuwa na vyanzo mbalimbali vinavyosababisha tatizo hili kukua kwa kasi hapa nchini na Duniani ambayo yamegawanyika katika sehemu tatu ambazo Virusi vinavyosababusha Saratani ya Shingo ya Kizazi, Bakteria vinavyosababusha Saratani ya Tumbo, Parasaiti vimelea vya kichocho vinavyosababisha Saratani ya Kibofu cha mkojo. 

Aidha amesema mtindo wa kimaisha wa Uvutaji wa sigara, kula vyakula ambavyo si mlo kamili na vyenye mafuta kwa wingi, kutokula matunda na mboga mboga, kunywa pombe kupita kiasi, matumizi ya dawa za kulevya na kutokufanya mazoezi,Mionzi ya Miale ya jua ambayo inaathiri ngozi hasa kwa walemavu wa ngozi,Urithi katika familia kwa mfano Saratani ya Matiti, na Utumbo. 

Amesema Saratani ni ugonjwa ambao huweza kuchukua muda mrefu mpaka kujitokeza (Miaka 10-20), hivyo wakati mwingine inakuwa ni vigumu sana kujua chanzo cha Saratani pale inapokuwa imejificha. 

Dk.Mpoki amesema mambo yanayoongeza uwezekano wa kupata magonjwa haya yasiyo ya kuambukiza ikiwa ni pamoja na saratani ni ulaji usiofaa mafuta na sukari, uzito uliozidi, unene uliokithiri, kutofanya mazoezi, uvutaji wa sigara na bidhaa zitokanazo na tumbaku, na unywaji pombe kupita kiasi. 

Serikali kupitia Wizara ya Afya, Maendeleo ya Jamii,Jinsia, Wazee na Watoto inatumia maadhimisho   haya kuwa sehemu ya uhamasishaji kwa jamii kama ilivyo kwenye nchi zote duniani. Aidha,Taasisi ya Saratani ya Ocean Road inahamisisha wananchi kujitokeza kwa wingi kuanzi Februali 3 mpaka 4 ili kufanyiwa uchunguzi Saratani zifuatazo, Uchunguzi wa Saratani ya Tezi Dume , Saratani ya Shingo ya Kizazi, Saratani ya Matiti na saratani ya ngozi kwa walemavu wa Ngozi. Uchunguzi huu utafanyika bure bila ya malipo yoyote.

Dalili kubwa ya ugonjwa wa Saratani ni uvimbe,ambao hauna maumivu mwanzoni, kupungua uzito, upungufu wa damu mwilini na dalili zingine kwa aina ya Saratani na sehemu ilipo mwilini’’.amesema Mpoki.
