Wakazi wa Chamwino Dodoma Wala Viwavi Jeshi Kuikabili Njaa


Wakazi wa Wilaya ya Chamwino mkoani Dodoma wanakula wadudu jamii ya viwavi jeshi, wanaojulikana kwa jina la fumbili kutokana na njaa kali iliyoikumba wilaya hiyo.
Hata hivyo, chakula hicho huenda kikapotea wakati wowote kutokana na mvua kutonyesha hivyo wadudu hao, ambao huishi kwa kutegemea majani, nao kupotea kwa kukosa chakula.
Mbali na fumbili, chakula kingine ambacho kilikuwa mkombozi kwa wakazi wengi, hususan Tarafa ya Chilonwa, ni matunda ya zambarau ambayo nayo yatakwisha wakati wowote kwani msimu wake umekwisha.
Chamwino ni wilaya iliyoko takriban kilomita 30 kutoka mjini Dodoma, ikikadiriwa kuwa na watu 349,714 na mazao ya chakula yanayolimwa kwenye wilaya hiyo ni mtama, uwele, mpunga, mahindi, mihogo, viazi vitamu, kunde, nyonyo, mbogamboga na choroko.
Juzi, Mbunge wa Chilonwa, Joel Mwaka aliitisha kikao cha dharura cha madiwani wote wa jimbo hilo lenye kata 14 kujadili suala hilo na kila diwani aliyechangia mjadala huo, alionyesha kujuta kugombea kwa kuwa wananchi wanamlilia.
Madiwani hao waliweka azimio la kusafiri kwenda Ikulu, Dar es Salaam kuwasilisha kilio cha wananchi wao.
Akizunguma kwenye kikao hicho, Mwaka alisema hali ya wakazi wa Chilonwa ni mbaya kiasi hakuna matumaini hata ya kupata mlo mmoja na badala yake wengi wanaishi kwa uji na matunda pori na fumbili.
Mbunge huyo alilaani mpango wa Serikali wa kuwapa vibali wafanyabiashara kwenda kuchukua mahindi katika ghala la chakula la Songea kwani bei zinakuwa kubwa.
“Ndiyo maana wanyabiashara wengi walikataa kwa kuwa bei inakuwa ni kubwa ambayo haiwezi kurudisha hata gharama zao, kitendo hicho kimefanya wafanyabiashara wa kawaida kuendelea kuwaumiza wananchi, lakini hakuna mwenye uwezo kipindi hiki, nasema walete mahindi ya bure siyo ya kununua tena,” alisema Mwaka.
Mbunge huyo alihoji ni kwa nini Serikali isiruhusu ghala la mahindi la Kizota, Dodoma kutoa mahindi kwa wafanyabiashara ili bei isiwe kubwa kama ilivyo sasa. Alisema bei ya sasa ya Sh15,000 kwa debe la kilo 20 ni kubwa na wachache ndiyo wanaoweza kuimudu.
Diwani wa Majeleko, Mussa Omari alifika kwenye kikao hicho akiwa na fumbili wengi akisema aliwakamata wakati akishirikiana na wapigakura wake kupata kitoweo.
Hata hivyo, hakuna diwani aliyeonyesha mshangao kwani kila mmoja alisema hata kwake wanakula wadudu hao na ni jambo la kawaida.
Mussa alisema hali ni mbaya zaidi kwenye kata yake na tayari baadhi ya watu wameanza kuvimba miguu kwa kukosa chakula, huku kukiwa na taarifa za vifo vinavyosadikiwa kuwa vimetokana na watu kukosa lishe.
Diwani wa Zajilwa, Farida Maulidi alisema katika eneo lake, kuna kaya 10 ambazo zimeelemewa zaidi na tayari kuna taarifa za vifo viwili. “Kwangu hali ni mbaya sana yaani naomba tuandamane kwenda hata kwa mkuu wa mkoa au niungane na wenzangu twendeni Ikulu tukamuone Rais. 

Mbona, pamoja na kusema hakuna mtu atakayekufa kwa njaa, huku watu wanateketea na sisi tupo? Kila siku nafanya kazi ya kutafuta uji kunusuru maisha ya watu wangu,” alisema Maulid.
Ofisa kilimo wa wilaya hiyo, Godfrey Mnyamale alikiri kuwa hali ni mbaya wilayani Chamwino na kusema kama juhudi za makusudi hazitachukulia ndani ya wiki moja, kutakuwa na madhara makubwa.
Mnyamale alisema tatizo kubwa lililoikumba Chamwino ni mvua kidogo zilizonyesha msimu wa mwaka jana iliyosababisha watu wasivune chakula cha kutosha.
Alisema ili kukabiliana na njaa iliyoanza wilayani humo tangu Aprili mwaka jana, jumla ya tani 14,377 za mahindi zinatakiwa kwenye vijiji 107, lakini hadi sasa Serikali imepeleka tani 150 tu ambazo ziligawiwa katika vijiji 10 tena kwa idadi ndogo.
Akizungumzia hali hiyo, Mkuu wa Mkoa wa Dodoma, Chiku Galawa alisema Serikali haijalala katika kuwaza namna ya kuwasaidia.
Galawa alisema katika kipindi kilichopita, Chamwino ilipewa msaada wa chakula lakini kilikuwa hakitoshi na ndiyo sababu hakikupelekwa maeneo yote.
“Hata hivyo, lazima watu wajue kuwa huwezi kuomba chakula leo na ukapewa leo. Leo kamati ya mkoa imeshapeleka maombi taifa na juzi niliongea na mhusika kwamba wanalifanyia kazi,” alisema Galawa.
Kuhusu wafanyabiashara kulazimishwa kununua mahindi Songea badala ya Dodoma, alisema jambo hilo liko nje ya uwezo wake kwa kuwa wenye kuwapangia ni mamlaka ya chakula.
Aliwataka wanasiasa kuacha kukuza mambo kuwa kuna watu wamekufa kwa njaa, badala yake watumie muda huo kuwahamasisha wafugaji kuuza mifugo na kununua chakula.
