Ndugu Waandishi wa Habari,
Ninapenda kutoa taarifa kwa umma, kuhusu mwenendo wa ugonjwa wa kipindupindu ulioanza tarehe 15 Agosti, 2015 katika mkoa wa Dar es Salaam na kusambaa kwa kasi katika Mikoa mingine 21 ya Tanzania Bara ambayo  ni  Pwani, Morogoro, Iringa, Kilimanjaro, Dodoma, Kigoma, Geita, Mara, Manyara, Arusha, Shinyanga, Tabora, Singida, Tanga, Lindi, Rukwa, Kagera, Katavi, Mbeya na Mwanza na Simiyu.

Tangu ugonjwa huu uanze, jumla ya watu 12,810 wameugua Kipindupindu, na kati yao jumla ya watu 202 wameshafariki kwa ugonjwa huu ambayo ni sawa na asilimia 1.6 ya waliougua.
Katika kipindi cha wiki iliyoanza tarehe 28 Desemba 2015 hadi tarehe 3 Januari 2016, kumekuwa na jumla ya wagonjwa walioripotiwa 590 na vifo 6, ambayo ni asilimia 0.01 ya wagonjwa wote. 
Mkoa wa Mara (Musoma Mjini) ndio ulikuwa unaongoza kwa kasi ya maambukizi ya ugonjwa wa kipindupindu ukifuatiwa na Singida (Iramba), Morogoro (Morogoro Vijijini) na Manyara (Simanjiro).

Takwimu zinaonyesha kuwa licha ya kuwa na nafuu katika wiki ya nyuma, wiki hii kasi ya maambukizi inaonesha kupanda tena kwenye mikoa ya Mwanza na Arusha. 
Katika mkoa wa Arusha, maambukizi yamepanda kutoka wagonjwa wapya 60 hadi 111 kwa wiki.  Katika mkoa wa Mwanza, kasi ya maambukizi imepanda kutoka wagonjwa wapya 45 hadi 66 kwa wiki.

Kasi ya maambukizi ya Kipindupindu katika wiki iliyopita imepungua kwa kiasi kikubwa katika mikoa ya Mbeya na Tanga. Aidha, mikoa ya Dar-es-Salaam na Lindi haijaripoti mgonjwa yeyote mpya wa Kipindupindu katika wiki iliyopita. 

Tunawapongeza kwa hatua hii kutokana na juhudi zinazofanywa na wadau ambao kwa pamoja, wameshirikiana kudhibiti ugonjwa huu kwa karibu zaidi.

Wizara ya Afya, Maendeleo ya Jamii, Jinsia, Wazee na Watoto, kwa kushirikiana na Sekta nyingine husika, wadau wa maendeleo na wadau wengine inaendelea kukabiliana na ugonjwa huu kwa njia mbalimbali. 
Kikosi kazi maalum chini ya uratibu wa Ofisi ya Waziri Mkuu kinakamilisha mpango unaoshirikisha Wizara ya Afya Maendeleo ya Jamii , Jinsia, Wazee na Watoto , TAMISEMI, Wizara ya Maji na Umwagiliaji, DAWASCO, DAWASA, Wizara ya Elimu, Sayansi, Teknolojia na Ufundi pamoja  na Sekretariat ya Mkoa wa Dar-es-Salaam, kwa ajili ya kuhakikisha kuwa mikakati ya kupambana na ugonjwa huu inakuwa jumuishi na ya haraka.

Ndugu Waandishi wa Habari,
Bado Wizara inaendelea kusisitiza kuwa, ili kudhibiti ugonjwa na kuokoa vifo vinavyotokana na ugonjwa huu, wananchi wanasisitizwa kunywa maji yaliyo safi na salama, kuepuka kula chakula kilichoandaliwa katika mazingira yasiyo safi na salama, kunawa mikono kwa sabuni na maji safi  yanayotiririka:-
-      kabla na baada ya kula
-      baada ya kutoka chooni
-      baada ya kumnawisha mtoto aliyejisaidia
-      baada ya kumhudumia mgonjwa

Aidha, ni muhimu kuhakikisha kuwa wananchi wanatumia vyoo wakati wote na kutokujisaidia ovyo katika vyanzo vya maji vya mito, mabwawa na ziwani. 
Wizara ilishapiga marufuku kuuza matunda yaliyokatwa na vyakula barabarani katika mazingira yasiyo safi na salama.
Hivyo, Mamlaka za Mikoa na Halmashauri pamoja na watendaji ambao ni  Waganga Wakuu wa Mikoa na Wilaya, Maafisa Afya, ziendelee kutoa taarifa kuhusu utekelezaji wa jambo hili.

Wizara inapeleka tena timu za wataalm katika mikoa iliyoathirika zaidi na kipindupindu ambayo ni Simiyu, Mara, Morogoro, Manyara, Singida, Arusha na Mwanza.  Timu hizi zitaungana na timu za mkoa wa wilaya kusaidia kudhibiti ugonjwa huu.

Hitimisho
Wizara ya Afya, Maendeleo ya Jamii, Jinsia, Wazee na Watoto, inaendelea kukumbusha kuwa, mikoa ambayo bado haijaathirika ichukue hatua za tahadhari za kuzuia ili isipate mgonjwa yeyote wa Kipindupindu.
