DTB YAPANIA KUPANDA MITI MKOANI IRINGA


Mkuu wa Wilaya ya Iringa, Richard Kasesela akipanda miti jana wilayani humo ikiwa ni sehemu ya uzinduzi wa kampeni ya kupanda miti. Benki ya Diamond Trust Tanzania imedhamini shughuli hiyo kwa kuchangia sh. milioni tano. Picha kwa hisani ya DTB.

BENKI ya Diamond Trust Tanzania, imedhamini shughuli ya upandaji miti katika Wilaya ya Iringa iliyopo mkoani Iringa kwa kuchangia sh. milioni tano. Wilaya ya Iringa imeanza rasmi kupanda miti katika maeneo yaliyotengwa na uongozi wa wilaya, ikiwa ni utekelezaji wa programu ya kitaifa ya kupanda na kutunza mazingira inayoanza mwezi huu.
Wilaya ya Iringa inategemea kupanda zaidi ya miti 5,000 ya mbao, mapambo, kivuli na matunda. Programu ya kupanda miti na kutunza mazingira ilizinduliwa rasmi na Waziri wa Maliasili na Utalii,Prof. Jumanne Maghembe, wiki iliyopita.
Mkuu wa Wilaya ya Iringa, Richard Kasesela wakati akizindua kampeni ya kupanda miti jana alieleza kuwa, Wilaya ya Iringa imetenga maeneo makubwa ya hifadhi ya misitu na mazingira ili kuhifadhi na kuongeza kiwango cha maji nchini katika tarafa za Mlolo, Ismani, Kalenga, Pawaga na Idodo.
Pia alisisitiza umuhimu wa miti na misitu katika kuhifadhi maji na umuhimu wa maji kwa viumbe hai. Alisema, upandaji miti na utunzaji wake utasaidia kupata hewa nzuri, maji, mvua, kupunguza joto na kupambana na mabiliko ya tabianchi.
Programu hiyo ya kitaifa ni ya aina yake nchini na inashirikisha serikali kuu, wananchi na sekta binafsi. Akizungumza na waandishi wa habari walioshiriki katika shughuli ya kupanda miti, Mkurugenzi Mtendaji wa Benki ya Diamond Trust Tanzania, Ndugu Viju Cherian, alisisitiza umuhimu wa programu ya kupanda miti.
Kutunza mazingira ni moja ya nguzo kuu ya benki yetu katika maeneo tunakofanya biashara. Kwa kuzingatia hilo, tumeitikia wito wa Mkuu wa Wilaya na kuunga mkono programu hii kwa kuchangia shilingi milioni tano. Benki ya DTB ni mshirika mkubwa katika hifadhi ya mazingira nchini kote,รถ alisema.
Benki ya DTB ilifungua tawi katika mji wa Iringa mwaka 2014 na hadi sasa ina matawi 24, matawi 10 yakiwa katika jiji la Dar es Salaam (tawi kuu la Dar es Salaam Mtaa wa Jamaat, Masaki, Morocco,Magomeni, Mbezi, Mbagala,Barabara ya Nyerere, Kariakoo, Barabara ya Nelson Mandela karibu na njia kuu ya Tabata na Upanga katika Barabara ya Umoja wa Mataifa.
Pia ina matawi katika miji ya Arusha, Mwanza, Zanzibar, Dodoma, Tanga, Mbeya, Moshi, Iringa, Morogoro, Tabora, Kahama na Mtwara. Aidha, DTB ni mshirika wa Mfuko wa Maendeleo ya Kiuchumi wa Aga Khan, ambao ni sehemu ya mtandao wa maendeleo wa Aga Khan (Aga Khan Development Network).
Katika hatua nyingine, Benki ya Diamond Trust ina matawi zaidi ya 115 katika nchi za Afrika Mashariki ambayo inaundwa na Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda ikiwemo Burundi.
