Automatic Wireless Health Monitoring System for Patients Circuit and Working

Generally it is very hard to find the abnormalities in the heart beat count of a patient. The average count of 25 years old ranges from 140 to 170 beats/minute, whereas in 60 years old people, it ranges from 115 to 140 beats /minute. Patients are not satisfied with the treatment which doctors normally use for finding the heartbeat count. So there should be a device to track the internal changes in the human body. There are different types of instruments are available in the market to track internal body changes, but there are some limitations due to their heavy cost, maintenance, instrument size and the patient’s mobility Here is a device namely wireless health monitoring system used to overcome this problem like easy to use, small in size, light weight and portable. This device uses a heartbeat sensor to track the patient’s heart beat count and also abnormalities.

Nowadays, the health care sensors are playing an essential role in hospitals. The patient monitoring system is one of the major developments because of its innovative technology. An automatic wireless health monitoring system is used to measure patient’s body temperature and heartbeat by using embedded technology. The proposed system uses both the sensors like heartbeat sensor and temperature sensor. These sensors mainly involves in monitoring the condition of the patient.

The main goal of this project to design a wireless system project, namely automatic wireless health monitoring system. The main goal of this project is to monitor the temperature of the patient’s body and display the same to the doctor using RF technology. In hospitals, the temperature of a patient’s body need to be monitored constantly, which is generally made by the staff members of the hospital.They notice the temperature of the patient’s body constantly and keeps a record of it.

The required components used in this system include a power supply, a 8051 microcontroller, a temperature sensor, an RF TX, an RX module and an LCD display. The 8051 microcontroller is used as a CPU for monitoring the temperature of the patient’s body. The main working of this proposed system is explained with the help of a block diagram, which includes a power supply block that supply power to the whole circuit, and a temperature sensor is used to sense the temperature of a patient’s body.

The block diagram of the automatic wireless health monitoring system mainly includes transmitter section and receiver section. In the TX section, the temperature sensor is used to detect the temperature of the patient’s body and the data which are sensed by the sensor is sent to the microcontroller.

The transmitted information can be encoded into serial data over the air through RF module and the temperature of the patient’s body values is displayed on the LCD display using an antenna arranged at the end of a transmitter and the data from the transmitter is transmitted to the receiver end.

In the receiver end, the received data is decoded with the help of a decoder. The transmitted data will be matched the data stored in the microcontroller. The receiver section of this project will be placed in the doctors chamber to read the data continuously. Finally the temperature of the patient’s body will be displayed on the LCD.

Applications & Advantages of the Health Monitoring System

The applications of the automatic wireless health monitoring system mainly include the following.
  • The wireless health monitoring system is used to transfer the data from the TX section to RX section wirelessly.
  • The proposed system mainly focuses on the situation where the doctors and patients are at the distant location and it is very important to give the entire details about the heartbeat and the temperature of the patient to the doctor.
  • Besides this if made particular changes in this project, it can also be applicable for acknowledging the students with the fastest mode of information about certain notices.

The advantages of the automatic wireless health monitoring system mainly include the following.
  • Associating the gap between the patients and the doctor
  • Best to be used in rural areas for multipurpose. So that all the conditions are simply measured
  • Operation of this device is very simple
  • It gives a good performance when we compare with compact sensor.

Furthermore, this project can be enhanced by using different parameters such as retinal size, BP, weight and age can be included to control the parameters in the future. And also this system can be developed by using advanced technologies like GPS and GSM
