Jamhuri ya Muungano  wa Tanzania,  imesema takwimu  sahihi zitahitajika katika kufuatilia utekelezaji wa  Malengo ya Maendeleo  Endelevu maarufu kama  Agenda 2030.




Hayo yameelezwa  siku ya  jumatano na Mwakilishi wa  Kudumu wa Tanzania katika Umoja wa Mataifa, Balozi Tuvako  Manongi,  wakati  wa  Mkutano wa 49 wa  Kamisheni ya Umoja wa Mataifa kuhusu Idadi ya Watu  na Maendeleo ( CPD),  mkutano  unaoendelea hapa  Umoja wa Mataifa.




             Balozi  Manongi anayeongoza ujumbe wa Tanzania katika mkutano huo,  amesema,   hapana shaka kwamba  ili  nchi  iwe na   takwimu  sahihi,  zenye viwango vinavyokubaliwa kitaifa na kimataifa panahitajika ushirikiano baina ya   Idara za  Kitaifa za Takwimu,  Serikali na washirika wa maendeleo.




“Upatikanaji wa takwimu zenye viwango katika utekelezaji wa  malengo ya maendeleo endelevu unatutaka tuwe  wabunifu na tuboreshe  mifumo yetu ya takwimu. Na katika  hili, tusijidanganye, haya yote yanahitaji uwekezaji wa raslimali fedha na utaalam,  patahitajika ushirikiano ambao utasaidia kuimarisha takwimu na kusaidia utekelezaji wa Agenda  2030”. Akaeleza  Balozi Manongi.




Vilevile Mwakilishi huyo wa Tanzania,  akaongeza kuwa  takwimu sahihi zina uwezo wa kuleta tofauti mkubwa kwa vile zinawasaidia watendaji  wa serikali katika upangaji wa sera na zinatoa ushahidi wa wapi palipofanikiwa na wapi  pana matatizo au mapungufu.Na  akasisitiza kwa kusema “ Takwimu sahihi zinasaidia uwazi  na kubwa  zaidi uwajibikaji”.




Akizungumzia Zaidi nafasi ya  takwimu sahihi na zenye viwango, Balozi Manongi amesema, Tanzania inapenda kusisitiza tena umuhimu wa ukusanyaji wa  takwimu kuhusu idadi ya watu kwa  kile anachosema ni nguzo muhimu  katika  siyo tu ufuatiliaji wa utekelezaji wa maazimio ya Mkutano wa Kimataifa wa Idadi ya watu na  Maendeleo lakini pia utekelezaji wa  Ajenda 2030.




Akifafanua Zaidi kuhusu idadi ya watu, Balozi amesema, Tanzania ni kati ya nchi zenye ongezeko  kubwa la idadi ya watu na hususaji vijana wanaoingia katika soko la ajira.“Ongezeko la  vijana lina fursa na changamoto pia. Tunatambua kwamba ili  nchi yetu inufaike na uwepo wa idadi kubwa ya vijana tunahitaji kuwa na mipango na sera  madhubuti, ikiwa ni pamoja na kuwapatia mafunzo na  stadi ambazo zitaiwezesha serikali kuvuna utaalamu na ujuzi wao” akabainisha Balozi.




Pamoja na ongezeko la idadi kubwa ya vijana,  Balozi Manongi amesema  kuna ongezeko pia la wazee wa miaka 60 na kuendelea hali inayoongeza mahitaji ya huduma za jamii na hususani afya. “ Ndiyo maana  tunatambua muingiliano wa idadi ya watu na maendeleo”.




Pamoja na  kuzungumzia changamoto mbalimbali za ukusanyaji wa takwimu sahihi na zenye ubora,  Balozi amewaeleza wajumbe wa mkutano huo kwamba,  Serikali ya Tanzania  imeendelea na  juhudi za kuiwezesha  Idara ya  Taifa ya Takwimu,  ikiwa ni pamoja na kuiwezesha kisheria kuwa chombo pekee chenye mamlaka  ya  utoaji  na usambazaji wa taarifa zinazohusiana na masuala ya takwimu.




Akatumia nafasi hiyo kutambua  siyo tu mchango wa serikali   Kuu bali pia wadau mbalimbali wa maendeleo na ambao wamekuwa wakisaidia katika eneo hilo.




Awali akifungua  mkutano huo wa 49 wa Kamisheni ya  Umoja wa Mataifa ya Idadi ya  Watu na Maendeleo.Katibu Mkuu wa  Umoja wa Mataifa  Ban  Ki Moon amesema watu wasipohesabiwa  wanatengwa na kwamba watu ni kiungo muhumu katika utekelezaji wa Agenda 2030.




Akaeleza   malengo 17 ya  maendeleo endelevu yamejikita Zaidi katika usawa na kuwa takwimu za idadi ya  watu, tathmini yake na uchambuzi wake ni muhimu sana katika kumaliza au kupunguza tofauti ya kati ya walionacho na wasionacho.Vilevile amesema takwimu sahihi zinasaidia katika kuwasaidia na kuwafikia watu walioko katika maeneo ambayo yahafikiki na hivyo kuwafikishia maendeleo na maisha yenye hadhi.
