Cable Splicing

Rope-Lay Splicing(Generally requires seven welds.)

 The rope-lay splice is constructed by cutting and staggering individual bunches of strands.  These bunches are lined up and welded in sequence to repair the cable.

Cable Splicing(Generally requires three welds.)

 A concentric splice is made by cutting and staggering individual layers of the concentric type wire.

 The individual layers are welded back together with separators installed between layers.  This prevents the individual layers from being welded to each other as each layer is welded back together.

Finishing the Splice

 Once conductor welding is completed, the splice is finished with all original materials.

 Semi-conducting tape, phase insulation, shielding, and jacket tapes are all the best quality approved materials for highest quality vulcanization.
