Máquinas térmicas são máquinas capazes de realizar trabalho a partir da variação de temperatura entre uma fonte fria e uma fonte quente. A grande maioria dessas máquinas retira calor de uma fonte quente. Parte desse calor realiza trabalho e a outra parte é jogada para a fonte fria, definindo, dessa forma, a eficiência da máquina. Uma máquina térmica tem maior eficiência quando ela transforma mais calor em trabalho, portanto, rejeita menos calor para a fonte fria.

Step 1:

1º Passo: Separe os materiais, sendo eles: tesoura, lata, fita adesiva e algo para furar a lata, como um raio de bicicleta e o catavento.

Step 2:

2º Passo: Fure a latinha de metal e coloque o canudo no furo e prenda com fita adesiva.

3º Passo: Faça um catavento, desenhe no isopor a forma do catavento com várias pás para ele se mover rápido com o vapor da água.
4º Passo: Fure o catavento no centro e coloque um lápis ou uma vara no meio dele.

Step 5:

5º Passo: Encha a lata de água e a prepare o fogão.

Step 6:

6º Passo: Ao aquecer a lata no fogão, a água dentro da lata irá ferver e produzir vapor, que irá passar pelo canudo, fazendo assim o catavento girar.
