Kujitoa EU: Uingereza Yawatoa hofu Watanzania

Siku chache baada ya Uingereza kuamua kujitoa katika Umoja wa Ulaya (EU), Balozi wa nchi hiyo nchini amesema wataendelea kuimarisha uhusiano na Tanzania ili kuhakikisha uwekezaji haupungui.

Akijibu swali kuhusu athari zozote zitakazojitokeza kwa Tanzania baada ya Uingereza kujitoa EU, Balozi wa Uingereza nchini, Dianna Melrose alisema jana kuwa haitapunguza uwekezaji, misaada wala vita dhidi ya rushwa na uhalifu wa kimtandao.

“Uhusiano wetu utaendelea kuwa imara kama ulivyokuwa awali,” alisema Melrose.

Balozi Melrose alisisitiza kuwa Uingereza itaendelea kuwa mwanachama katika Baraza la Usalama la Umoja wa Mataifa (UN), Umoja wa Kujihami wa Nchi za Magharibi (Nato), Umoja wa nchi saba zilizoendelea zaidi duniani (G7), umoja wa mawaziri wa fedha na magavana wa benki kuu kutoka nchi zenye uchumi mkubwa duniani (G20) na Jumuiya ya Madola na kushirikiana na Tanzania.

Tangu Juni 23 Uingereza ilipopiga kura ya maoni kujitoa EU, umetokea mtikisiko mkubwa kati ya England na washirika wake Wales, Scotland na Ireland Kaskazini.

Kura hiyo ya maoni imesababisha Waziri Mkuu, David Cameron kutangaza kujiuzulu kwa kushindwa kwake kushawishi nchi hiyo kubaki EU.

Mtikisiko mwingine mkubwa umejitokeza katika masoko ya hisa ambapo tangu Alhamisi iliyopita yameporomoka na kupoteza Dola za Marekani trilioni mbili.

Ofisa Mtendaji Mkuu wa Soko la Hisa la Dar es Salaam (DSE), Moremi Marwa alisema soko lake na mengine Uingereza ni miongoni mwa nchi nne zenye mchango mkubwa wa kifedha kwa EU.

Takwimu zinaonyesha kuwa kwa mwaka jana pekee ilichangia Pauni 12.9 bilioni (zaidi Sh37.5 trilioni).

Kiasi hicho ni kikubwa kwa Sh10 trilioni ya bajeti ya Tanzania kwa mwaka ujao wa fedha, 2016/2017.

“DSE haijaunganishwa sana na masoko ya nje lakini tunao wawekezaji wengi kutoka Uingereza,” alisema Moremi na kubainisha kuwa, mabadiliko yanaweza yakaonekana Soko la Hisa la Johanessburg (JSE), Afrika Kusini.

Alipoulizwa Katibu Mkuu wa Viwanda na Uwekezaji, Profesa Adolf Mkenda kwamba Serikali imejipanga vipi kukabiliana na athari zitakazojitokeza baada ya Uingereza kujitoa alisema ni mapema sana kwa wizara yake na Tanzania kwa ujumla kutetereka kwa namna yoyote kwa sasa kwa kuwa uhusiano mkubwa uliopo ni ule wa kiuwekezaji.

“Uwekezaji siyo suala la siku moja,” alisema na kufafanua kuwa mikataba ambayo ilishatiwa saini ni lazima itekelezwe kama makubaliano yalivyofanywa. “Masoko ya hisa ndiyo yanayoweza kuathirika kwa muda huu mfupi,” aliongeza.


Mkurugenzi wa Uhusiano na Sheria wa Shirikisho la Wenye Viwanda Tanzania (CTI), Hussein Kamote alisema muda huo wa utekelezaji wa maadhimio ya kujitoa ni mrefu na huenda hatua za haraka zikachukuliwa kabla athari za kiuchumi hazijasambaa duniani kote.
