TAARIFA KWA UMMA KUHUSU RIPOTI YA UTAFITI WA WATALII WALIOINGIA NCHINI MWAKA 2014


Katibu Mkuu wa Wizara ya Maliasili na Utalii, Maj. Gen. Gaudence Milanzi (wa pili kulia) akizungumza na Waandishi wa Habari katika Ukumbi Benki Kuu ya Tanzania (BOT) tarehe 18/02/2016 juu ya ripoti ya Utafiti wa Watalii walioingia nchini mwaka 2014. Kutoka kushoto ni Mkurugenzi Mkuu wa Ofisi ya Taifa ya Takwimu (NBS), Dkt. Albina Chuwa, Mkurugenzi wa Utafiti na Sera za Uchumi Benki Kuu ya Tanzania (BOT), Bw. Jonhson Nyella na Mkurugenzi wa Idara ya Utalii, Bw. Zahoro Kimwaga kulia.
Baadhi ya washiriki wa Mkutano huo wa Waandishi wa Habari katika Ukumbi wa Benki Kuu ya Tanzania (BOT).

Sekta ya utalii Tanzania ambayo mchango wake katika mauzo ya nje ya nchi ni takribani
asilimia 24.0 iliendelea kukua katika mwaka 2014 kama inavyodhihirishwa na ongezeko la idadi ya watalii wa kimataifa kutoka 1,095,885 mwaka 2013 hadi 1,140,156 mwaka 2014.  Matokeo ya utafiti wa mwaka 2014 yanaonyesha ongezeko kubwa la mapato ya utalii ambayo yanatokana na ongezeko la idadi ya watatii. 
Wageni wengi wanaiona Tanzania kama kivutio pekee chenye watu marafiki na mandhari ya kuvutia.
 
Utafiti huu umefanywa na Wizara ya Maliasili na Utalii (MNRT) kwa kushirikiana na Benki
Kuu ya Tanzania (BOT), Ofisi ya Taifa ya Takwimu (NBS), Idara ya Uhamiaji na Kamisheni ya Utalii Zanzibar (ZCT). 
 
Matokeo muhimu ya utafiti ni kama ifuatavyo:
1)
Mapato yatokanayo na Utalii yaliongezeka kwa asilimia 8.2 hadi  kufikia Dola za Kimarekani 2,006.3 milioni katika mwaka 2014, ikilinganishwa na Dola za Kimarekani  milioni 1,853.3 zilizopatikana mwaka 2013;
2)
Zanzibar ilipata Dola za Kimarekani 269.3 mwaka 2014 ikilinganishwa na dola za
Kimarekani milioni 210.5 mwaka 2013;
3)
 Wastani wa matumizi yote ya mtalii kwa usiku ilikuwa Dola za Kimarekani 221 chini kidogo ya Dola za Kimarekani 284 zilizoripotiwa mwaka 2013.
4)
 Wageni waliofika chini ya mpango mfuko ziara walitumia wastani wa Dola za kimarekani 326.9 kwa mtu kwa usiku wakati wale waliokuja kwa kujitegemea walitumia wastani wa Dola za kimarekani 147.8;
5)
Masoko makuu 15 ya utalii nchini yanachangia asilimia 82 ya watalii wote wa kimataifa.
Zimbabwe, Uholanzi na China ni masoko mapya katika masoko makuu 15 katika mwaka
2014; ambayo yamechukua nafasi ya Sweden, Uswisi na India katika masoko Makuu
15 yaliyopatikana mwaka 2013;

Utalii wa wanyamapori – uliendelea kuwa shughuli kuu ya utalii katika Tanzania Bara ulichangia
kwa asilimia 43.5. Idadi kubwa ya watalii waliokujai kutembelea wanyamapori walikuja
kutoka Marekani, Uingereza, Ufaransa na Italia. Kwa upande Zanzibar, shughuli mashuhuri
ilikuwa utalii wa ufukweni na kiutamaduni;

 Matokeo ya utafiti yanaonyesha kuwa asilimia 54.1 ya wageni wanatumia kati ya siku nane hadi 28. Wageni kutoka Ujerumani, Uholanzi, Italia, Ufaransa na Hispania walikaa muda mrefu zaidi na wale waliotoka Zimbabwe walikaa siku chache zaidi;
8)
 Kama ilivyoonekana katika tafiti zilizopita, watalii hawakufurahishwa na kutokuwa na huduma ya credit cards katika maeneo yanayotoa huduma za kitalii. Asilimia 87 ya watalii walilipia huduma mbalimbali za kitalii kwa kutumia fedha taslimu.
