Basi lenye abiria 42 latumbukia mtoni


WATU sita wamekufa papo hapo na wengine 25 kujeruhiwa na kulazwa hospitalini kutokana na ajali mbili tofauti.
 Kamanda wa Polisi wa Mkoa wa Morogoro, Leonard Paulo, alisema mjini hapa jana kuwa ajali ya kwanza, ilihusisha basi la abiria lililokuwa na abiria 42, ambalo liligonga kingo za daraja, likaparamia miti miwili kisha kutumbukia ndani ya mto Lukosi, Iyovi eneo la Msosa huko Mikumi wilaya ya Kilosa mkoani Morogoro, katika barabara kuu ya Iringa – Morogoro.

Alisema tukio hilo ni la Januari Mosi mwaka huu majira ya saa 8 mchana. Basi hilo lilitokea Dar es Salaam, lilikuwa linakwenda Mbeya. 
Kamanda Paulo alisema dereva wa basi hilo aliendesha gari kushoto zaidi, akaenda kugonga kingo za daraja hilo, akaenda kuparamia miti miwili kisha alilitumbukiza ndani ya mto huo.

Kamanda huyo alisema katika ajali hiyo, watu watatu walikufa akiwemo dereva wa basi hilo na kujeruhi wengine 16, ambapo majeruhi 14 walilazwa katika Kituo cha Afya cha Tandika kilichopo eneo la wilaya ya Kilolo, mkoani Iringa. Majeruhi wengine sita walisafirishwa hadi Hospitali ya Mkoa wa Iringa na kulazwa.

Kamanda alisema basi hilo lilibeba abiria 42 na chanzo za ajali hiyo kilielezwa na mashuhuda kuwa ni uzembe wa dereva wa basi, aliyeshindwa kufuata sheria za usalama barabarani katika eneo hilo la safu ya milima ya Iyovi, lenye kona nyingi na mito yenye madaraja. Alisema maiti mmoja ametambulika na ni dereva wa basi hilo.

Maiti wawili, mmoja mwanamume na mwingine mwanamke, bado hawajatambuliwa na wamehifadhiwa katika chumba za maiti cha Hospitali ya Rufaa ya Mkoa wa Morogoro. Alitoa mwito kwa watu kufika kuwatambua.

Kamanda huyo wa Mkoa alisema ajali ya pili ilitokea Januari Mosi mwaka huu, ambapo watu watatu walifariki papo hapo na wengine watano kujeruhiwa na kulazwa katika Kituo cha Afya cha Gairo wilayani Gairo mkoani Morogoro.

Alisema ajali hiyo ilihusisha gari ndogo, lenye namba za usajili T 252 CGV aina ya Toyota Vitz, lililokuwa likiendeshwa na Bundala Charles Mahimbo, mkazi wa Dar es Salaam. Gari hilo liligongana uso kwa uso na lori, lenye namba za usajili T531 CFE lenye tela namba T 509 AFY aina ya Scania, lililokuwa likiendeshwa na dereva, Ally Said Magimbi (33), mkazi wa Mtongani , Dar es Salaam.

Alisema ajali hiyo ilitokea jioni eneo la Ngiroli wilayani Gairo barabara kuu ya Morogoro- Dodoma. Gari ndogo lilikuwa likitokea Mkoa wa Tanga kwenda Mwanza wakati lori kubwa lilitokea Kagera kwenda Dar es Salaam.

Kamanda Paulo alisema watu watatu waliokuwa katika gari ndogo, walikufa papo hapo na wengine watano walijeruhiwa, miongoni mwao mmoja ni abiria wa lori.
 Kamanda huyo wa Polisi aliwataja waliokufa katika ajali hiyo ni Bundala Mahimbo ambaye ni mkazi wa Dar es Salaam, Flora Mugabo na Emmanuel Mahimbo, wote wakazi wa Nyakato mkoani Mwanza.

Majeruhi waliolazwa Kituo cha Afya Gairo ni dereva wa lori, Ally Magimbi, mkazi wa Mtongani Dar es Salaam, Peter Mahinda ambaye ni mkazi wa Nyakato na Hassan Mwera. Walioruhusiwa ni Judith Joseph na Scolastica Fransis aliyekuwa abiria kwenye gari kubwa.

Kwa mujibu wa Kamanda Paulo, chanzo cha ajali hiyo ni uzembe wa dereva wa gari ndogo ambaye aliamua kulipita gari jingine kwenye kona na kwenda kugongana uso kwa uso na lori hilo na kusababisha vifo vya watu hao na majeruhi.
